Why do they call it Twin Falls

Why do they call this city Twin Falls? Could it have something to do with water? Or water falls maybe? Well, it is very likely so. Twin Falls took its name from two waterfalls along the Snake River Canyon. However, only one is visible today. A dam was built to divert water away from the second waterfall to use the water for hydroelectricity throughout the year. The best time to see the Twin Falls waterfall is from March to early June before water is diverted for other uses.
